Why we love micellar water
We talk about dual-purpose beauty products all the time (get a load of these incredible multi-tasking goodies), but micellar water’s on another level. Good for your skin and great at removing make-up, it’s a total beauty game-changer and, in my opinion, one of the best skincare inventions yet. Need more convincing? Here’s a handy video explaining what it is, why I love it so much and how to use it.

What is micellar water?
Micellar water looks and feels a lot like a toner, except that it contains oil molecules to work as a cleanser.
Who is it suitable for?
It’s suitable for all skin types (sensitive, normal and oily).
How much does it cost?
It’s also great value, costing roughly $15 for 200mL. Hot tip: The Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Water is a steal at $12.99 for 400mL.
How do I use micellar water?
Squeeze a little bit of micellar water onto a cotton pad, and then wipe it gently across your face to remove make-up and impurities. Your skin should feel super-soft and clean afterwards.
Any tips?
Always! Make sure you use a cotton pad for the best result (a tissue won’t work as well).

Micellar is good value but i find myself use more cotton pads and more cleanser... not sure is it because i am using Swisse brand. Have bought cleansing oil which i prefer. No cotton pads needed.

I'm so glad we can try this famous Garnier Water now because I think most of us received it as a bonus product in our Beautorium deliveries. Thankyou Bh! I might try it tonight!

I love using Micellar water, and especially love trying all the different brands. Sukin has a lovely light scented one, like rose fragrance, very nice.

This looks great and so convenient to use. I've seen these in shops but never really knew what they're for. Great article.

You do have to use a lot of makeup pads which is why I don't use it often

I love Micellar water at the moment, I've been using the Bioderma one (slightly pricier, but I absolutely love it!) I use it as a second cleanser - so I cleanse and then use this to make sure I've removed all my make up.

I think it's a little overrated. You need too many cotton pads and too many applications to remove makeup fully. Took me forever! It's no different from any other toner I have used and my skin seems to get irritated from all the wiping. Much prefer an oil or cream cleanser.

I really like the Bioderma one but it is a bit exxy. The Garnier one needs more product to do the same job but it is way cheaper so repurchasing isn't a problem. I also bought the Lacura (Aldi brand) micellar water when they stocked it a couple weeks back and it's pretty good and affordable too! The only negative point is that it is quite heavily fragranced so it might not be for people with sensitive skin/eyes/nose. I might try the Simple one next time since I have heard great things about it.

I have the Garnier one, and I usually just use it for removing my eye makeup, and then use a gentle scrub to remove the makeup on my face, as it doesn't feel deeply clean enough for me. It's great though. Removes everything in one swipe. I just wet a cotton pad, press it on my eye area for 5 seconds or so and swipe it all away :)

So are they basically all the same?
If it becomes super popular I can't see the price staying the same...the cosmetic companies will find a way to upsell ;)

they always find the way! Launching more and more new stuff that "need" to be used in beauty "routines" it became crazy! Primers are for example so new to me, and on that you need to layer other crap (concealers, foundations, serums, moisturizers, SPF cream...yada...), before that use several cleansing stuff, scrub, peel and who knows what...just too much

I love using my Garnier micellar water! It's so satisfying to see all of the leftover makeup come off after using other methods of makeup removal.
