Glam Nan talks beauty
My Nan doesn’t get called ‘Glam Nan’ for nothing. The lady has style – she gets mistaken for my mother constantly, she’s got smoother skin than I do, and she can pull off the perfect shadow to match her green eyes without hesitation.
Yep, sometimes her vast knowledge and insight puts my glossy gig and I to shame. But I do occasionally teach her a thing or two as well. It was thanks to me and my powers of persuasion that she decided to switch from black mascara and a swipe of eyeliner to just a brown mascara (I though it would compliment her bright green eyes brilliantly – and I was right!).
Nan also entertains me with beauty stories from when she was younger. She told me tales of when she used to sport a Marge Simpson-esque beehive (true story) and wouldn’t step foot outside the house without her Cedel Hair Lacquer, which kept her high hair in perfect shape for the entire day. She drove my grandad crazy with all the preening!
She’s also been an advocate of Elizabeth Arden for as long as she can remember (but she assures me it’s nowhere near the 100 years that they’re celebrating this year!) The Eight Hour Cream is her no-fail long-time love – and she doesn’t feel dressed unless she’s wearing it somewhere, anywhere!
Who has your biggest beauty influence been?
