How-to: smell lovely for less
So you really want a perfume but you just can’t afford it? Why not make your own! Homemade fragrances can smell just as lovely as the real thing but they only cost a fraction of the price – and if you (or your nana) has a pretty decent flowerbed handy, you can usually make one for free
Making your own perfume
What you’ll need:
½ cup of rose petals
¼ cup lavender flower petals
½ cup of water
A mortar and pestle
A small spray bottle
Step 1: Combine all the flower petals in the mortar and grind up with the pestle until all mushy.
Step 2: Add in water and mix well.
Step 3: Using your strainer and funnel, strain into the spray bottle.
Step 4: Shake the bottle up well to mix the scent then spritz as much and as often as you like for an instantly sweet, fresh scent that smells like you’ve just been rolling in a bed of flowers! Heavenly!
