7 beauty products to steal from your baby

Babies have a lot of things we want. Naptime, constant attention, the ability to wear a onesie everywhere without being judged…
But while some of these things are impossible to obtain as an adult, there are some beauty products that your baby uses that you can benefit from too.
#1 Baby shampoo
Yep, what’s used on your baby’s hair can also be used on your own. In fact it’s great for those with sensitive scalps and fine hair, as it’s incredibly gentle and won’t strip your strands. Baby shampoo is also great for cleaning your make-up brushes. It removes make-up residue while keeping the hairs extra soft.
Try: Paul Mitchell Baby Don’t Cry Shampoo and Natural Instinct Baby Shampoo
#2 Nappy rash cream
Not just for rashy little bottoms, nappy rash cream can be used on all sorts of rashes, irritations and dry patches. You can even apply it to your dry cracked heels to promote healing and smoother skin.
Try: Billie Goat Soap Billie Baby Butt Cream and Sudocrem Healing Cream
#3 Baby powder
Incredibly multi-purpose, baby powder can be used as a dry shampoo substitute, chafe protector, or even to create fuller lashes. Check out the entire list of uses here.
Try: GAIA Natural Baby Natural Baby Powder and Curash Anti Rash Powder
#4 Baby wipes
It’s no secret these moist towelettes are gold. They’re great for removing make-up, cleaning up small spills, wiping dusty surfaces, disinfecting hands and about a million other things.
Try: Mamia Baby Wipes ($2.49, 80 pack, Aldi) and Yes To Baby Carrots Face and Nose Wipes
#5 Roll-on sunscreen
The roll-on was invented for the squirmy baby, but this form of application also makes life easier for the lazy: simply roll-on and rub. There’s no need to get both hands sticky anymore.
Try: Banana Boat Baby Roll-On SPF 50+ and NIVEA SUN Kids Caring Roll On
#6 Baby oil
Not just for massage, baby oil can also act as a cuticle oil, temporary tattoo remover and bubble bath. It can also be used to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy and puberty.
Try: DermaVeen Baby Bath Oil and WOTNOT Baby Bath & Massage Oil
#7 Detangle spray
While toddlers are more notorious for knotty hair, it doesn’t mean this spray can’t work wonders for you also. It will make brushing a whole lot easier, meaning less breakage and split ends.
Try: Natures Organics Organic Care Kids Detangling Conditioning Spray and Johnson’s Kids No More Tangles Spray

I have always wondered about baby wipes. They always seem like much better value than makeup wipes but was worried they might be too harsh for my face. Might give them a try next time I need to restock

I wouldn't actually recommend using baby wipes as make-up wipes! They're too harsh to use on the face!
However most of the other tips are sound. I use baby shampoo to clean my make-up brushes and am very happy with the result

Great tips. I already use the powder as a dry shampoo and the baby shampoo to wash brushes.....never thought it would be strong enough for my hair but I'll give it a try. I love these tips you find on BH. So very useful and sometimes eye-opening!

Sudocrem is fantastic, as are baby wipes. I don't know how I lived without them even before I had a baby!
Baby oil is a great multi-purpose product but I was told by doctors and midwives that no product can prevent stretch-marks - it all depends on the type of skin you have and your weight-gain in pregnancy.

I'm VERY careful, & it's worked: no kids for me! :) But I buy generic baby oil as eye makeup remover: gets off waterproof mascara, gel liner & color tattoo eye shadow without rubbing. One cottonwool ball does both eyes perfectly. Love the talc & wipes too!

My hairdresser recommends baby shampoo as it's so gentle on the hair. And baby wipes are a handbag essential!

Nice ideas. How about the Red Nose baby wipes (Aussie Wipes) - 100% Aussie owned and made, and the proceeds go towards the SIDS and Kids charity. Can use them for all sorts of other things as well as just baby wipes. Love their flushable toddler wipes too! (great for freshening up your 'lady bits' when you need to).

I use Johnson's Kids No More Tangles Spray and Johnson's Baby Oil even now. I love the Johnson's Baby Talc too for its light pleasant fragrance. I'm not a person that likes to use deodorant or even has a need for it but I do use talcum powder instead under my arm pits.
