The real reason Uma Therman looks different
In case you missed it, the Internet has been a-buzz this week with news of Uma Thurman’s ‘new’ face.
When the 44-year-old actress showed up to the red carpet premiere of her new mini-series, The Slap, on Monday looking incredibly fresh-faced, rumours started swirling that she’d gone under the knife.
While her new look isn’t as dramatic as Renee Zellweger’s shock transformation in October last year, Uma’s make-up artist gave People the inside scoop on her more youthful appearance, and it comes down to one simple beauty trick – she’s not wearing mascara.
In creating Uma’s “effortless Parisienne chic” look, Troy Surratt ditched the mascara, opting to leave the star’s eyelashes bare. He’s a bonafide genius, because it’s taken years off her face!
So how do you go about recreating her show-stopping look? It’s all about bold lips and brows, and barely-there eye make-up, “The face is sectioned into three equal parts, lending a visual balance and allowing the mouth to be the star of the face,” said Surratt.
Start by getting your complexion beaming with an illuminating foundation like the Shu Uemura Face Architect Illuminating Moisture Fluid Foundation. Then, give your cheeks some colour with dustings of blush, such as the Antonym Ecocert Certified Organic Baked Blush. Brighten up the eyes with satin, neutral-toned eyeshadow using the Almay Intense i-Color Satin Kit for Green Eyes and fill in brows with the Australis Cosmetics Eyebrow Pencil.
Finally, get a popping pout with a fire-engine red lippy using the Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivids Lip Color in Neon Red.
What do you think of Uma’s fresh-faced beauty look? Would you ever go to a special event without wearing mascara?
