4 ways you can use your old mascara wand
Remember how we told you that you could reuse your old (and expensive) mascara wand with your brand new, more budget friendly one? Well, as it turns out, there are many, many other ways you can repurpose that ready-for-the-bin brush.
First, you need to clean your mascara wand. Soak it overnight in a formulation made up of warm water and antibacterial solution. This will help loosen the mascara from the brush and ensure that the wand is hygienic enough to use. In the morning, rinse the brush until the water runs clear, let it dry and give it a quick spritz with a brush cleaner.
Now here’s how you can use it:
#1: Tame your flyaways
Frizzy bits and flyaways driving you insane? Then you’ll want to spray some TIGI Finishing Hairspray onto your mascara wand and brush down those misbehaving strands. Problem solved in about three seconds flat.
#2: Groom your brows
If you don’t already own a spoolie, then your freshly cleaned mascara wand is your new best friend. Use the soft bristles to brush unruly brows into place to keep them looking more defined. You can also use that nifty hairspray trick above to keep brows in place.
#3: Separate your lashes
Were you a bit heavy handed with your mascara and now your lashes are stuck together? No problem! Use your clean mascara wand to brush through the clumps and separate your lashes. Just make sure to do this when the mascara is still wet. Oh, and don’t forget to wash the brush again after you do this.
#4: Hard-to-reach cleaning
Okay, so it’s not a beauty use, but consider your repurposed mascara wand the pipe cleaner’s jazzier younger cousin. The soft bristles will come in handy to help you unclog your sink, clean the gunk out of your tap and get the grime out of those tiny nooks and crannies in your bathroom and kitchen.
Have you ever reused your mascara wand? What do you use your mascara wand for (other than applying mascara, of course)?
