Hoarder, who me?
Rummaging through my handbag yesterday I became increasingly frustrated when, despite all my digging, I couldn’t seem to find the item I was after – my ringing phone.
After pulling out my tenth lip gloss and missing the call (for the third time that morning) I made a tough but firm decision. It was time to cull my cosmetics.
Now, as much as I live, breath and love beauty products, I’m (surprisingly) well aware that the average girl does not need ten glosses in varying shades of pink in her purse.
Nor would she find herself in a cosmetic crises should she not have three mascaras, two bronzers, a couple of lotions and five (yes, five!) nail polishes on hand at all times. (And just for the record, don’t ask me how I’ve built up such an in-bag beauty collection because I certainly don’t put them in there. I have a theory that they all march in there overnight while I’m sleeping).
Anyway, having just received the new Bloom Mesh Bag Trio – a three-pack of varying-sized cosmetic pouches perfect for storing brushes, compacts and other beauty bits and pieces – I decided that now was as good a time as any to get organized.
So I’ve limited myself to using the smallest bag (in the hope that I’ll stick to carrying the essentials) and I’m now the spartan sporter of the following:
1 x Clinique Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine, 1 x Prestige Cosmetics Classic Lipstick, 1 x MAC Bronzing Powder + brush, 1 x pack Sheer Cover Blotting Papers, and 1 x Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. Ok, ok – and maybe a Mavala Nail Polish or two.
Hmmm…wonder how long it’ll take before I upgrade to the medium-sized bag…
What beauty essentials do you carry in your handbag?
