How to prep your skin before applying makeup
There’s a lot more to preparing your skin for makeup than slathering a dollop of face primer on your face. Your makeup routine really starts well before you’ve started applying makeup. If you’ve got an event, plan on taking lots of photos, or just want to look like your best self, how you prep your skin before applying makeup can be the difference between a flawless base and a flaky one.

And it’s not just in the products that you use - doing it right requires timing and applying your products in the right order.
If you want to know what to apply on your face before makeup (i.e. how to get your best base ever), watch the video above to see my step-by-step guide on how to prep your skin before applying makeup.

I use a Jade Roller too! I got mine at www.luxondemand.com. I found it while scrolling through a google search.

I have heard so much about jade rollers. I imagine the cooling effect is very refreshing. But honestly, I just don't see myself have the luxury of doing that often.

I love the look of that jade roller, but I think I prefer to use my (scrupulously clean) fingers for most products.

You have absolutely gorgeous skin Sophie. Great to see you are looking after it! I know it takes a lot of work but it's SO worth it. Great skin is the foundation for everything. Unfortunately there's so many of us out there that no matter what we do we are just plagued with acne and major skin dramas. I'm one of them. It's medical for me so I can't get around it. No matter what I do I will always have bad skin but I just try my best to manage it. It's always good to try new products and approaches as you never know what will help. Even if it's just a minor improvement it all adds up. So I will def be trying out this jade roller. Hopefully it will assist my serums to work their magic. Thanks for the tip! :)

I could see myself excited setting all these products up faithfully carrying out steps for about a week. This is a goal a great goal to work on since I tend to dash out the door half done.

I generally just start with a fresh clean face by using a cleansing oil and then moisturising my skin. Every now and then i'll spray my rose water toner after moisturising but only if i'm not feeling lazy!
