BB creams to suit your skin

When you think about it, BB creams are still fairly new to the western beauty scene (they first launched in Australia in 2012 but have been a staple in Korea and Japan for decades).
Despite that, they’ve become a staple in almost every woman’s beauty cupboard and you’d be hard-pressed to find a brand that didn’t have a BB cream. And you know what’s great about that? You’re more likely to find one that suits your skin’s needs to a T!
Consult our guide below to find the perfect BB cream for you.
I'm looking for a BB Cream for...
Anti-Ageing Benefits
Dull skin
Pore-minimising
Uneven skin tone
Oily skin
With SPF
Bonus BBB (Budget BB cream):
Under $20

I love my BB creams! Sun protection is a must for them as is a natural looking glow.

I like how they were all separated in different categories. Great list to have on hand

I must be old-fashioned. I prefer to get skin care benefits such as plant oils, peptides etc from a moisturiser, then apply a foundation on the top. However, I can appreciate why BB creams are popular due to their convenience, especially when someone is in a rush to do their makeup. I only recently bought the Jane Iredale BB cream - not because it is a BB cream, but because it's more like a full coverage foundation. For anyone considering this BB cream, please try to test the shades in a store, which I didn't do.

For BB creams, I look for evening out my skintone and minimising my pores

Shouldn't they be doing it all?

What a great article! I feel like Asian BB creams are better than the western ones, but that's probably my bias talking :D

I rally really really want to try the jane Iredale bb cream.. I do wish though that I could find one that did all of these things really well, as opposed to only one or two things well

to be honest I kind of thought BBs were supposed to do ALL of these things. Isn't that why they're being flogged as the miracle makeup?

When I tried the links out, I had to look at the ones that aimed for oily and shiny skin, added radiance and evening out my complexion. So far the Bobbi Brown sounds good to try, but from my experience with BB creams, I find them lacking coverage and oxidises after wearing it for sometime. I might resort to CC cream as a base/primer since it's good for your skin when you wear it and go back to the tradition foundation. In my opinion, all BB creams should have sunscreen!

Controlling oil and shine would be my No.1 concern in a BB cream, but a 6 in 1 BB cream would be wonderful! Currently using L'Oreal Magique - apparently for radiance and luminousity, but I find it gives a good coverage and evens out my skintone.

Great article! For some strange reason, BB creams seem to turn orange on me. Strange indeed! I would love to find one to suit me. Oh well, I'll keep searching.

My main aim from a BB is even complexion. The Revlon BB works really well for this. I love how the formulas of a BB cream continue to change to cater to everyones needs.
