6 things we learned from watching Kylie Jenner do her makeup

We always assume that the Kardashian-Jenner family is flanked by a glam squad at all times, but Kylie Jenner has just proved us wrong. The 20-year-old has filmed a makeup tutorial for Vogue and reminded us exactly why she's the owner of the makeup empire that is Kylie Cosmetics.

Kylie explained in the video that she had “some meetings” on that day so was going to keep her look fairly simple. But we’re talking Kardashian-Jenner simple (aka nearly 40 steps).
Here are our highlights from Kylie Jenner's Vogue makeup tutorial…
#1 She does her brows & eyes first
Kylie is a fan of doing her eyeshadow before her foundation to stop any fallout. First and foremost though, Kylie fills in her brows before applying concealer below her brows and over her eyelids. She then dusts powder over her lids to set the concealer before busting out the eyeshadow palette. She then wipes any excess shadow off her face with a makeup wipe.
#2 She uses a powder sunscreen
After applying her base (four pumps of foundation mixed with one pump of a liquid illuminator and a mix of pink and “beigier” concealers) Kylie dusts on a powder SPF.

#3 She loves "baking"
After doing a little bit of contouring with her bronzer, Kylie bakes. She applies a thick layer of powder over her jawline and in the hollows of her cheeks before leaving it there for a few steps and eventually dusting it off again.
#4 She can apply lip liner with her eyes closed
Kylie can literally line her lips without looking. And it's perfect. She also likes to fully colour her lips in with her liner (a trick that Beyonce also loves).
#5 She uses two shades of mascara
Kylie goes for black mascara on her top lashes (Diorshow Black Mascara) and brown on her lower lashes to look more natural.
#6 She goes to town with blush
Kylie’s favourite part of her makeup routine is applying blush and you can tell. She applies it to the apples of her cheeks and also to her forehead, nose and chin. “Drowning in blush right now” she laughed at the end of the tutorial. “But it just makes me feel like my whole look is complete.”

I doubt that I would try baking in my makeup routine because I have dry and mature skin.

16 years ago, a makeup artist advised me to wear foundation on my lips and colour the whole lip in with liner.
I have such sensitive eyes that I avoid eye makeup.
Baking is fantastic if you are Kylie's age but if you are in your forties, it could be potentially disastrous!
I like her spunk!

Also interested in powder sunscreen. I couldn't wear that much makeup though. I'd feel like I'm suffocating my skin. I'd have to at least be using all natural based products. I'm so glad that more natural makeup is available nowadays

I like her more then the Kardashian family but these aren't simple step's. I prefer putting my foundation on then eyeliner & eye shadow afterwards, I tried it the other way a few time's it didn't work for me.

A powder sounds like a loose powder with a high SPF

I'm still trying to get the hang of baking, but I'm so with her about the brows and eyes.

It would never have occurred to me to do my brows and eyes first. I always do my base first. It just makes more sense to me.

Two tone mascara, cool. I do either both with blackest black for doll eye look (my eyes are roundish anyways), or just top ones for more different look (towards cat eye thingy

I get where she's coming from when she says the blush makes her look feel completed. It's like the final step!

spf powders are great, they've been a staple in Korea and Japan for a long time and the two I've tried were great

I wonder how long powder sunscreen lasts and what type of coverage you get. I also love filling in my lips with my liner.

I am intrigued by SPF powder. It would be a great way to top up on sunscreen throughout the day if wearing makeup.

Jenna Dewan & Shay Mitchell have their own youtube channels. But they are never featured on BH. Instead we get the same boring people...................

I'm not a Kardashian fan, but I do always love a new make-up trick. I'm intrigued with the idea of a powder SPF and I too am a blush lover - cheeks, nose, chin and forehead - perfect!

I'm pretty sure she was using the Chanel Ultrawear Flawless Compact Foundation which is just a powder foundation in a compact with SPF15 which is nowhere enough SPF to be considered a sunscreen nor does Chanel advertise that as a 'powder sunscreen'. Actual powder sunscreens do exist such as the MAXCLINIC - Natural Sunkill RX SPF46 PA+++ or even the Chanel Le Blanc UV Protection Whitening Loose Powder SPF 50.
