Blogstar entry: caked versus baked
Ladies, blush is called exactly that for a reason. You are trying to achieve rosy cheeks that look like your standing in front of your high school crush and he just called you ‘Tara’ instead of ‘Tamara but you don’t want to correct him.
Think about the redness that comes to your cheeks when your nanna pinches them at Christmas time. That’s the look you’re after (without the pain and nannas awkward jokes). I want you to grab a mirror right now and look in it without smiling.
Now try to find the apples of your cheeks, hard right? Now smile into the mirror. Those big round apple looking things next to your nose, they’re called your cheek apples, they say “put blush here”.
While still smiling I want you to load up your brush and tap it on the side of the canister a couple of times. Start from the middle of the apple and lightly apply blush in a circular sweeping motion. Now just like primary school be sure not to go outside the lines of the apple. Once you’ve mastered this technique you can decide how blushed you would like to look on a scale of baked (you’ve been out in the sun for the day and are lightly pink) or caked (your face looks like it has been iced with frosting from your two year old sisters birthday.
Good luck ladies!
