Your awkward beauty problems solved!

Have you ever gone over to a friend’s house to watch a movie and refused to take off your shoes because you know your feet are going to stink out the room faster than it takes to watch the opening credits? Or maybe you’ve noticed someone staring at your dark lip hair and felt your face burn like it’s actually on fire?
We’ve all encountered an awkward or embarrassing beauty problem at some point in our lives, and even though we know we’re not alone and it’s all totally normal, it’s hard to speak up and ask for help.
So, without even needing to say a word, consider your cry for help heard.
HOW TO DEAL WITH PEELING FINGERTIPS
This isn’t just a problem because you’re a bit embarrassed to show your hands, but it can actually be quite painful, too.
The first step is to start using an incredibly gentle, nourishing hand (and even body) wash. Try one that’s been formulated for babies, like GAIA Natural baby Bath & Body Wash, as it’ll be kind to your skin. Then, you’ll want to regularly apply a hand cream or balm to soften and restore your skin while protecting it at the same time. Try Botani Olivéne Balm as it’s been specifically designed to heal and repair dry and cracked skin and will help relieve any discomfort caused by itching.
If this is a chronic problem for you, it’s probably also a good idea to visit your doctor.
HOW TO DEAL WITH SMELLY FEET
This is usually a big issue in summer when your sockless feet get super-sweaty in a confined space (like a ballet flat or moccasin) and can’t breathe.
Place some Footcare Odour Stop Everyday insoles in your shoes – the soft cushion will help absorb the sweat from your feet, keeping them fresh and dry. The insoles also help remove odour-causing bacteria and feature odour-controlling activated charcoal, which targets and kills foot and shoe odours. You can also spray some Odour Stop Foot & Shoe Spray to deodorise and freshen up both your feet and shoes.
HOW TO DEAL WITH A FLAKY SCALP
How many times have you had to say, “Um, I swear it’s not dandruff, my scalp is just really dry!”? Yeah, it’s not a fun thing to have to explain. Which is why you should use scalp-conditioning treatments that’ll add moisture and hydration back to the dehydrated skin. Morcoccanoil Dry Scalp Treatment will do wonders to protect your scalp from the dryness and irritation that can be caused from chemical and colour services, while Head & Shoulders Scalp Massage Cream will help to really give your scalp the hydration it needs if used weekly.
HOW TO DEAL WITH BAD BREATH
If you have stale or bad breath, then you know the sheer terror involved in closely talking or whispering to someone. If you don’t brush and floss your teeth twice a day, the tiny bits of food that are lodged in your teeth and gums can cause bacteria to grow in your mouth, giving you that bad breath. So make sure you give your teeth a good brush with a minty-fresh toothpaste, like Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste, and follow it up with a proper floss in between each and every tooth (we like: Oral B Satin Floss) morning and night. For extra assurance, swish some AVEDA Peppymint Breath Refresher around your mouth and carry some Hollywood Fashion Secrets Make Out Mints in your bag.
HOW TO DEAL WITH UPPER LIP HAIR
There are a few ways you can deal with that fuzz above your upper lip that’ll make you feel better about it.
You can try bleaching it, with a gentle and lightening formulation like Nair Cream Hair Bleach for Face and Body. This will lighten the hair so it appears, well, invisible. Alternatively, you can remove the hair altogether. Depilatory creams like Andrea Gentle Hair Remover for Face will quickly and painlessly remove the hair from your upper lip, while waxes like Veet High Precision Facial Wax Care will help remove the hair from the root. You can also try a more permanent removal process like laser hair removal.

Yes I’ve been using Andrea product for upper lip hair for most of my life. I don’t think I could get the upper lip wax, it’s just not something I’d consider yet.

I tend to get a flaky scalp if I use the wrong shampoo or conditioner. Great info to help solve these very real beauty problems mentioned above.

Brushing my teeth regularly but especially just before I go out with my friends helps.

Peeling fingertips?! I've never heard of that before. It would be a very embarrassing problem and the pain factor too.

With the bad breath one, if you brush your tongue as well it also helps clear your breath!

Dry & badly irritated hands are so horrible to deal with. Since I've started using a handcream numerous times a day, my hands have never had any issues

from these i only have the above lip hair issue, not too bad, but like it waxed off...just concerned of darkening the skin with too frequent treatment...i do not want to end up with dirty mustache...

dry hair flakes were always a problem for me, like the article suggests massage some hair oil into your scalp before you wash it,. pretty much cured mine (I use Loreal or Dove oil, but some suggest virgin coconut oil which I have but not yet tried it for this purpose)

Yes I have had peeling fingertips. I felt like I had a disease on my hands I didn't like it all. Just a simple case of dermatitis. :)

Upper lip hair AND down the sides of my face. Mostly its fine and blonde but I've been using Andrea Gentle Bleach Creme for the face for years and it works really well for those dark little buggers. I've tried laser hair removal a few times but the danger with that for me is I have facial pigmentation from sun damaged and continued lasers temporarily make it worse :(

I have dark hair that's visible on my face. It's always been something of a concern to me. I always wax and pluck where needed. Such a nuisance.

I think many of us have these issues. I cannot stand smelly coffee breath so I don't drink it often.

The other recommendation I have for dry scaly scalps is De Lorenzo's Tricho series.
