How-to: Create a relaxed, tousled updo
We can’t go past the easygoing, relaxed vibe that comes with having soft, loose curls. And when those curls are pulled back into a loose, low bun, you’re left with a low-key yet chic style that can be rocked at any occasion.
Inspired by the tousled updo Zoe Saldana flaunted on the Oscars red carpet, this tutorial will help you to nail this relaxed hair look for yourself..
Oh, and if you struggle to create curls using a curling wand or straightener, don’t sweat. The VS Sassoon Curl Secret does all the hard work for you, and makes the whole process faster so you can get out the door and start showing off your effortless ‘do.

STEP #1: Brush and section your hair.
STEP #2: Take a small section and brush again if necessary.
STEP #3: If your hair is layered, give each section a slight twist before placing it in the chamber.
STEP #4: Clamp the Curl Secret shut, and release when you hear three quick, consecutive beeps. Repeat until all of your hair is curled.
STEP #5: When you’ve finished curling, if you feel like you hair needs more body, add some texturising products to the roots.
STEP #6: To get a relaxed look, gently run your fingers through the curls.
STEP #7: Pull your hair back into a low, loose bun and use bobby pins to secure. If necessary, pin any loose ends out of the way.
STEP #8: Gently loosen the ‘do at the nape of your neck for a slightly softer look. If your hair ends up too loose at the front, twist the pieces and secure with bobby pins.
STEP #9: To finish, pull out a few soft curls around your face.
