How to keep your hair in place for a big event

If you’ve ever had a big event like a formal or a wedding to attend, you’ll know the importance of ensuring your look stays flawless all night long.
The last thing you need is wispy bits of hair falling around your face, or that intricate hairstyle you spent hours perfecting coming loose and turning into a half-styled flurry of curls around your shoulders.
The foolproof system you need to secure any style all night long is made up of two elements: the base and the security.
The base
Products known as “the base” for hairstyles are the ones that mould the final shape of your ‘do. They provide structure and height with ease, and are a great guide for creating a flawless style.
We love: Lady Jayne Bun Styl’r Kit and Lady Jayne Volume Styl’r
The security
Products that fall into “the security” category are designed to be disguised in your hair and assist with keeping your style in place by securing your ‘do firmly to your head.
We love: Lady Jayne Contoured Bobby Pins and Lady Jayne Hair Pins
What are your top tips for keeping your 'do in place?

I'm not one for running to the bathroom every second when hair gets messy or I need to re-do it I'll just tie it up then it's solved. Everyone would have this dilemma but have their own way's of doing it.

Olivia, great article! If I was going to a formal event now, I'd probably go to a hairdresser.

I read a tip and it was use a spare toothbrush and spray hair spray on the toothbrush and brush over fly aways, I used this tip all the time and it does the trick every time.

Bobby pins and strong hold hairspray are must-haves for any updo for me. The bun styler is a definite help too but is limiting to only one type of updo.

I don't often put my hair up but when I do, bobby pins and hair spray are must haves. I also like to use a hair serum to prevent frizz so that the looks more sleek!
