Clean & Balanced Shampoo Reviews

This has been my Husband's favorite go-to shampoo for as long as I can remember. He has extremely oily scalp and oily hair which makes him really prone to dandruff and thus a very logical choice - a shampoo that absolutely keeps dandruff at bay.

He also likes that this one is a very simple, no-nonsense, no-frills and absolutely no-gimmicks kind of formula with a refreshing yet neutral fragrance. I find it bit harsh for my thin, frizzy and curly hair but for him, he'd hardly even consider trying anything else - why fix something that ain't broken.

I have this in a smaller 200ml sized bottle which is similar to the conditoner shape but it sits upside-down compared to the conditioner. It makes it sort of look like a proper pair when they are standing side by side.

This is white shampoo with a slight pearlescent look to it. It smells like a soft-fresh scent to match it's conditioner mate.

This shampoo works well to cleanse my hair and it does feel like it's kind of treating it too as it has a bit of a different feel to it compared to a regular shampoo. I don't suffer dandruff but I do borrow this from time to time from my daughter who is a fanatic for this shampoo. This shampoo does make my hair feel clean and ready for it's matching conditioner. It's not harsh and doesn't make my fine, long blonde hair feel stripped at all.

I was lucky enough to get a sample of this shampoo from my gym. I found it pretty good. It is a thick white creamy colour, the shampoo lathers up well. My hair is thick and dark so dandruff is not a good look. I find when I am stressed the dandruff is worse. If there is more of a problem like seborrheic dermatitis, I would recommend an over the counter shampoo.

I originally had a beautiful scalp. My mum used to have psoriasis on her scalp, so the whole family switched hair products all the time when I was young. Our doctor then referred us to DermaVeen oatmeal shampoo and conditioner and it helped mum. When her psoriasis went away(not because of DermaVeen) we still continued using Dermaveen. It had always given me silky volumised hair and dandruff free scalp(keep in mind my scalp was always a little itchy). I used it all the time till mum bought home head and shoulders. I loved the smell and immediately switched to it. I used Head and shoulders for 3months and then my scalp got really itchy and I had gut feeling it might be dry skin, and I was correct. I now have switched back to Dermaveen and using palmers coconut oil dry mist for affected areas. I see it getting better where I've been spraying dry oil mist since I first noticed my dandruff. I lately found a new spot and immediately sprayed it. Hopefully, my scalp will go back to being as healthy as it used to.

I wanted to love this, I mean it won its category in the Best of Beauty awards in 2017, but it just didn’t deliver for me.

I have very thick, rough textured hair and I’ve always had dandruff issues, but I think this made it worse. Now I have constant big flakes and I have to monitor them to make sure none are visible when I tie my hair up. My scalp is also much more itchy and sensitive than it normally is, so I have to physically restrain myself from scratching in public and leaving one of these huge flakes on the surface of my hair.

It also left my hair dry and frizzy, needing extra conditioning treatment.

Not sure what type of scalp/hair combination this was tested on, but it definitely doesn’t work on mine.

I have never found that it doesn't work every time my scalp gets bad I use this 3 shampoos and my scalp is left feeling good again

I was excited to try this product as I have been thing about switching to H&S for awhile now.

The fist thing that I noticed was that the shampoo was quite thick and creamy not like my usual shampoo. I was worried that this might lead to product build up and be hard to rinse out. The scent was nice and pleasant but I could really detect any specific scent.
But other than that it worked amazingly aha

-smell: this was a great scented product that didn't smell like chemicals, I have often found with previous products that there is a strong chemical smell which just wasn't present with this shampoo.
- effective: I found this product to eliminate the itchy dry scalp and minimise my dandruff. It also did the same for my husband who is a mechanic so often has his scalp affected by work products.
- moisture: it left my hair feeling soft and full of moisture which is always a bonus as I healthily colour treated hair, my hair knots easily and this product did not leave me feeling matted in between shampoo and conditioner
-longevity: I didn't require much product so feel the bottle will last a long time and is great value for money
- colour stripper: I often find anti dandruff shampoo to strip my colour requiring heavy toner afterwards to rectify. I have been able to slip this product into my routine without extra toner required as it did not heavily strip the colour from my hair with each wash.

Overall I will continue to keep using this product, as will my husband, and we will purchase again in the future

As a part of the trial team I was chosen to test out the head and shoulders 3 action formula , and I was so excited I was picked for it !

Firstly , I have suffered from a dry scalp for about 2-3 years now. I haven't actually ever bothered to do much about it and was curious to see if this shampoo would help the condition mt scalp is in. I have dranduff and somtimes when it irritated from my scratching it can turn to sores.

When I opened the bottle, the smell of the shampoo emerged and it was lovely. It's a mild scent , it smelt clean and refreshing. This shampoo lathered up great and i felt it just removing all the oil/sweat in my hair from working 4 days in a row lol. After shampooing it felt so clean and fresh and it was ready for the conditioner.

After conditioning, my hair was left feeling soft and silky and my scalp wasn't irritated like it usually is! When I parted my hair, I noticed in the sections I usually have drandruff ( mainly on the top part) was dandruff free. I am very pleased with this product, I allways thought well of head and shoulders products and this prove to me how great they are :)
