Reviewers:

Twenty female reviewers aged 25 years and over with a number of different hair concerns. The trial was split so each woman received the range best suited to her hair. Women with normal hair were given the Cool Mint range to try; women with fine, limp hair were given Big Bold range; women with blonde hair were given the Clean Blonde range; women with coloured hair were given the Colour Lock range; women with dry and damaged hair were given the Make-A-Mends range; women who suffer with product build-up were given the Detox range, and women with frizzy, unruly hair were given the Smooth Shot range.

If you’re into your hair styling, no doubt you’ve come across Fudge products before. They’re innovative, effective and best of all, they’re fun. The one thing Fudge was missing was a range of products that could care for your hair as well as style it. It’s for this reason that the launch of the Fudge Care range is so exciting. These aren’t your average shampoos and conditioners: in fact, the range features a line-up of products to suit every hair concern, from uncontrollable oiliness, to dry, damaged locks.

During the trial the vast majority of members were impressed with the smell of every product range, with the exception of a couple of testers who found that the Cool Mint variant smelled a bit like men’s aftershave. Other members who trialed the Big Bold OOMF range loved that the products gave their hair more volume and bounce. Testers also loved that the duo is sulphate-free.

Those who trialled the Clean Blonde range were impressed with how the duo worked to eliminate the brassy yellow tones from their hair while leaving it feeling bouncy and hydrated. While some members who trialled the Colour Lock range found their hair to feel a little dry, they were very impressed with the vibrancy of the colour of their hair.

Those who trialled the Cool Mint range were impressed with how fresh and clean their scalp and hair felt. They also loved that they had no product build-up in their hair and that they got an extra day out of their hair wash. Those who trialled the Detox Shampoo found it was the perfect unisex shampoo with a scent that would please both men and women, and it effectively removed product build-up.

The triallers of the Make-A-Mends range were impressed with how soft and clean their hair felt and loved that their hair wash lasted longer before becoming oily. Athough some testers of the Smooth Shot range found itleft their hair feeling a little flat, most were pleased with how effectively the products controlled their frizz and treated their dry hair. “I found the shampoo was thick when squeezed out of the bottle so it needed a bit more water added to lather up really well and it made my bathroom smell divine! “My hair definitely has more volume and bounce when I use the Big Bold products. I love the result but found that it wasn't quite moisturising enough when used regularly alone. I have fine, extremely bleach-damaged hair and I found it necessary to use a treatment mask once a week just to keep the moisture levels up. Fortunately Fudge make an excellent treatment called Dynamite, so by using this along with the Big Bold shampoo and conditioner, my hair had volume and movement and felt balanced, strong and hydrated. “I have been using this product in conjunction with the Clean Blonde Shampoo. I found the conditioner to be deeply nourishing and my hair was soft and shinier after use. I also found my thick hair was easier to brush. I liked that the conditioner also contained violet pigments to neutralise brassy tones. “The conditioner is quite thick and combs easily through wet hair. I tend to favour thicker conditioners over thinner ones, so I was very happy with this! It left my hair feeling quite silky and manageable after use. As far as overall performance goes, I give the range a thumbs up! “I have been using this shampoo exclusively for the past few weeks and it always leaves my hair soft, clean and without scalp irritation (my main concern when trying out new shampoos).
