The beautyheaven team’s Winter hair must haves

The winter air can be hard on our scalps and manes. The bh team experience winter hair woes like everyone else. Like a lot of working women, we often run in and out of our offices from meetings to events and are also sitting under air conditioning all day. Those environmental factors definitely take a toll on our strands.
So we wanted to let you guys know (because you often ask us what products we use or how we care for our hair) what we make sure we keep stored in our bathroom shelves, handbags or on our desks to get our hair through the harsh, winter chill.
Here are our winter-hair must-haves!

“After styling my hair every morning, I spread through a tiny amount of my favourite hair oil which is by OUAI ($44 sephora.com.au). It just gives it that boost of shine and softness I need during winter – and it smells DIVINE. I'm also all about natural, at-home remedies so on self-care Sundays, I pretty much drench my hair in coconut oil to lock in the moisture that winter is stealing from me! I then wrap my hair in a towel and let it rest and absorb the oil for a few hours.”

“During winter, I love to spritz the KEVIN.MURPHY SHIMMER.ME BLONDE. ($43, adorebeauty.com.au) on my dry ends. It’s a repairing shine treatment that’s specifically made for blondes and it makes my colour look brighter. It’s formulated with Australian fruit extracts and nourishing oils to add moisture and keep my locks looking glossy. Plus, it helps to counteract yellow and gold tones which is HUGE for me as a bottle blonde.”
bh also loves: ghd final shine spray, John Frieda Sheer Blonde Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray

“The products I swear by to keep my hair in good shape in winter are the ELEVEN Miracle Hair Treatment and L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil. I apply the Miracle Hair Treatment to wet hair after I’ve showered, and leave it in. I do this maybe twice a week. And then I use the Extraordinary Oil on dry hair, once I’ve styled it for the day, as a finishing touch to smooth frizz and top up hydration.”

“My fluffy hair texture always looks a little poodle-esque post blow-dry. Even if I manage to get it bouncing and behaving in the A.M., the wind tunnel that is my walk to the bus is especially unkind in winter, so I keep the Drybar The Chaser Shine Cream ($39, Sephora.com.au) in my bag to bring my mane back down to human levels of height. I work a ten-cent piece amount through mid-lengths and ends to manage frizz and add shine, plus the repairing hibiscus extract in the formula leaves hair smelling like a Hawaiian paradise (a far cry from chilly Sydney).”
bh also loves ELEVEN Australia Frizz Control, bhave Frizz Control

“For the winter months I swear by getting a Keratin treatment, like the bhave Rescue Therapy in-salon treatment, once every couple months. Since I’m a bottle blonde and my hair is naturally coarse in texture, it's constantly dry and damaged and the winter air definitely doesn’t do me any favours with this! Keratin treatments keep my hair hydrated, soft, and protected against chemical cut and breakage from my heating tools. When I don’t have time to head to the salon for a treatment, I use the Hask Smoothing Deep Conditioner with Keratin Protein as an at-home deep conditioning treatment.”
bh also loves: Klorane Keratin Strength, Abeeco Marine Collagen + Keratin

I'm almost certain I tried a sample of that Drybar product years back and quite liked it. This was back before Sephora was in Australia so it will be easier to get my hands on the full size version now. I have a 'defrizzing' product coming in my RR order so I'll see how that goes first.

Not sure if staff read the articles regularly but some of the hyperlinks are redirecting to BH NZ site.
Can this please be rectified?

It's strange, I once had a notification that someone had replied to my comment and, when I clicked on it, it took me to the NZ site! I think our comments on old articles get replicated over there or something? No idea!

My hair is a bird's nest no matter the season!
Not sure if humidity would do me favours if I were to move to the tropics!
