Women getting grey hair younger than ever

We know that it happens to all of us at some point, but a study has shown that Australian women are going grey at a younger age than we previously thought.
The research from hair care brand Clairol Nice ‘N Easy shows that one in three women aged 18 to 35 will find their first grey hair before the age of 30.
The study also revealed than on spotting their first grey hair, the majority of women responded negatively, with 63 per cent claiming they felt unattractive and less confident.
At bh, we think grey hair can be very beautiful, but if you prefer not to embrace the silver-haired look just yet, simply check out our tips on how to hide it.
At what age would you be happy to show off your natural grey hair?

I started going grey late 20's, but at first it was a rather cool strip down the side. My Mum used to tell me people paid for that look. Now, they're more prolific. I dye at home, but I'm also OK sporting a few greys. When it's all grey I'll definitely be covering it completely.

I got my first grey at 12 and seriously had to start dying at 15. Now I'm blonde covering my 90% grey at 33.

I found my first when I was 19...I'm 23 now. Thankfully they seem to just be concentrated around my fringe (touch wood!), oddly, it's where I would always spray my dry shampoo. Hmmm... As Samantha Jones once said: "if you pull out one grey hair, seven more show up for it's funeral"

What's wrong with grey hair? If its well styled and in good condition, it can look stunning!

I wish I could be so brave and confident to just wear my grey hair proudly but, alas, it's not so!! I'm just trying to not colour so often that I completely ruin my hair :(

I have been colouring my hair for some time now after grey started to appear in my early 20's; as time goes on I am feeling more confident and happy with myself so one day I hope to openly embrace naturally grey hair.

At 40+ I'm pretty lucky that I have yet to find a grey. A girlfriend of mine was going grey by 21. I am my natural hair colour at the moment because I know the time is coming when I will have to dye it to cover the grey. However, I'm starting to think that since platinum blonde suited me, I might dye it all the way grey when it happens. I think it is super elegant.

My father's aunt went completely grey at 16. I had my first grey hair at that age but not, thankfully, a whole head of it. The past few years, I'd been too broke to buy hair dye. Being grey and showing it to the world wasn't as traumatic as I'd predicted. God bless hair dye!

I remember getting a few white hairs when I was in high school :S For some reason, I don't have them anymore so I just put it down to lack of certain nutrients~ Hope they don't come back for a long loooooooooong time :P

oh no, I don't want to start showing grey hairs before I'm 30. Maybe when I am in my 40's?

I haven't dyed my hair in at least 15 years due to the chemicals in hair dyes. If I see too much grey hair appear, I might be tempted to dye my hair, but hopefully with a hair dye with less chemicals.

I think it's also quite stress related these days. I'm 24 and I hope I don't see a grey for at least another 10 years!

By the age of 24 I had a few grey hairs so I decided at age 27 to colour my hair blonde so it's less noticeable. I prefer my hair brown but the blonde hides the greys so that's what I stick with. I'm not happy that I will have to stick with blonde hair for the rest of my life :(

I'm a brunette and thankfully haven't any grey or white hairs yet (hubby makes up for that ;D). I'm not sure yet what I'll do, as I have a gorgeous husband who says "I'll still love you no matter what your hair is". Awwwww.

I was in primary school when schoolmates pointed out grey hairs!
It really freaked me out, but Mum said it's in the family. Then my brother got his first, also in primary school. Mum & I have since been diagnosed with thyroid disease, which can case premature greys. MAJOR BUMMER!

I am in my 20s and no grey hair, luckily. My mother's family does have the gene of early grey hair though, 40's is the age I am comfortable with grey hair.

Strangely enough just the other day I spotted a white hair but unfortunately I didn't have time to pull it out. I think I might have to consider dying my hair when I'm older since I have black hair.

Found my first greys a few weeks before my first child was born! 20 years on, still colouring, but would like to one day go grey, but probably when the greys are over 50%.

I remember discovering my first grey hair in my early 30s and didn't worry too much as it blended in with my own blonde hair but as I got older my hair started to have a salt and pepper look and more greys but I really quite like them. Even now, sometimes I get some blonde foils get put in but I leave the grey in. I'm not worry about going grey all over so bring it on. I've seen some really lovely grey colours out there.
