GHD Oracle Review: The new hair tool that took six years to make
Renowned brand GHD (which stands for Good Hair Day, in case you were wondering) who are known and loved for their iconic hair straighteners, have just released their latest hair tool – ‘The Oracle’.
Having taken 6 years to create and come to fruition, GHD’s 1st professional curler promises to create “endless curls” with “just one glide.” Made with 4 ceramic plates, an optimum styling temperature of 185 degrees Celsius and featuring both the “styling power of heat and setting effect of cooling”, The Oracle is designed for all hair-types with “curl-zone technology” to give you every style of curl your heart (and hair) desires from ‘beachy waves’ to ‘red carpet’ curls.

We were lucky enough to be invited to the launch to see, feel and trial the Oracle for ourselves, and here’s what we thought…
I’m a huge fan of the brand. I’ve had my GHD straightener for years. I use it pretty much every day (to both straighten and wave my hair) and I’ve dropped it more times than I care to remember. It’s been like my imaginary best friend accompanying me through the many stages of my hair journey/life (no, really. Break ups, nights out, saving my frizz on European holidays) and it’s still going strong. So, I was excited to trial their new curling tool.
Upon arrival we each had a professional hairdresser give us a demonstration first. This was because of the elaborate technology behind it, as it can seem a little daunting to use at first glance.
If you watched our Instagram stories earlier this week, you would have seen that I asked for “beachy waves” (If you didn’t, then what were you doing? GOT is over guys, time to start watching our fun Insta-Stories!). After our professional lesson, the curling baton was passed on to us to try ourselves…
I must admit, it did take some getting used to, but after a couple of tries, I was able to master the trick that worked for my hair. Plus, the fact that I walked in with greasy hair, and it STILL managed to deliver these cool waves, well that’s definitely something worth noting!
The new GHD Oracle does come with a higher price tag, so it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. However, we recommend this for anyone who loves styling their hair in waves or in different variations of curls. This is also a great tool for all those hairdressers and hair stylists out there who would definitely get plenty of use out of the curling tool for their clients (especially for weddings when styling big groups).
The new GHD Oracle retails at $340 and you can find the exclusive partner salons they are stocked at here.
Is this a hair tool you would be happy to invest in? Would you be interested in a hair video demo of curling tools?
