Just received an email from BH wishing us Happy New Year and with a survey link to complete. It gives you the opportunity to complain about the spam. Note that some of the questions say tick all that apply but only let you tick one.
That's a great idea, we get to have a say. I noticed that lindylou, so I ticked "Other" and typed in the things that applied when there was more than one that I liked.
That’s exactly what I did! I mentioned the spam and deducted a star for that each time (and said so).
Just got the email too and yes had my chance to mention the spam. Also bonus 100 points for doing the survey which is very generous of BH.
Did you get the 100 pts immediately after?
No points for me Shali_Nialler I think the way the form is set up that we have to type in our user name that the points will be something that are manually added to our accounts at a later date.
I also did not get the 100 point immediately, I too presume it is because it is not linked to our logins and someone has to add the points manually.
It was good to know BH want to hear our opinion, I mentioned the spam too (honestly who would'nt?) I also mentioned I would like the opportunity to mark reviews as spam. I've read quite a few doozies over the years!

Completed the survey, SPAM and the slowness of the website were my main issues. Hopefully the staff at BH will take some of everyone's issues raised on board. Good to have an opportunity to participate in a survey and receive some points as well.
Yes these were my main 'gripes' too, It has made me not really log in anywhere near as much as I use to. Just became too hard.

I know I must be misreading the question, but that doesn't help me decipher it. It'll probably be so obvious to me tomorrow that I'll be embarrassed I couldn't make sense of it. But at the moment, I'm bamboozled! The options don't seem to match the question.
How do you find reviews and articles of your interest? Umm - by using the Bh search box, or Google. Why the hell is "by colour & texture" an option?

I pounced on the opportunity to complain about the spam also. Hopefully this will be the thing that will see some changes take place regarding spammers.
There is a significant absence in spam posts since yesterday, but I took the opportunity to mention them in my survey anyway and also a couple of other things. I think the speed of the website is way better now, I noticed a huge improvement a couple of months ago.

That's a promising sign, I marked it as spam just before I sent my post about it.
Spam has all of a sudden been vanishing which is awesome. Hopefully the serial spammers accounts have been blocked and removed also. Its been so had having a 'report spam' button then having nothing happen when we all report it. Wonderful to see some action in that department now :D
Hi Meedee, Eleni has been very busy deleting a lot of the spam. In regards to the "report as spam " button, yes staff can see we are reporting spam and yes Eleni wants us to keep hitting the button to report. I got an email from Eleni the other day because a lot of my points disappeared from the forums comments. This is because Eleni "went wild" and deleted a huge amount of spammers posts. Because I had commented, my replies were also deleted along with my points. Eleni kindly restored my points and this all happened Wednesday morning while I was working so I didn't even notice. I thought that was really nice of her to email me to keep me informed and we had a bit of a discussion about it. I.T has again been approached and they are going to try and bring in something to stop the spammers, but it won't happen straight away. I noticed in Eleni's comment on the forum the other day she asked us not to reply to spammers . If we do this, our points disappear which makes more work for her to keep track and reinstate our points. She is only capable of so much as she is pretty busy with other things but I have noticed a huge amount of spam deleted and pretty much as soon as another new forum topic appears it's deleted. I notice a few new members appear to be asking "for advice or help" and I'm pretty sure they are just opening up a new topic for spammers to come in with their links. I certanly won't be replying to them until I know for sure they are a legit member.
