Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone can recommend a good eye cream? I'm in my early 30s and have never used one (I think it's time to start) so I don't know which one to try. Thanks!
I'm in my mid 20s and i've seen that girls even younger than me are using eye creams!
I thought it was like an over 40s kind of thing!
I too would love to see what products people are using, and need something to brighten up my dark undereyes :(
Same! Only just found out that it should have been part of my daily regime ages ago, I thought it was only for serious wrinkles. At college we use Algologie Eye Contour Gel but I'd be interested to know what other brands have a good eye product - I have dark circles as well.
I started using an eye cream in my late twenties. I started noticing dark circles more frequently and some wrinkles. I'm currently using one from Derma-i coseceuticals. It's a fantastic product with Glycolic acid to gently also firm up sagging skin and dead skin cells coz u can't rub around the sensitive eye areas.
I'm in my early 30's too and I've just started using Shu Uemura Tsuya skin Youth Infusing eye concentrate - I really like it - it is pricey but you only need a tiny bit
It's really hydrating but light
I also use a serum at night around my eyes (and all over my face) - Hey Gorgeous Anti Ageing Youth Elixir - LOVE this
What budget do you have, ie Priceline brands or more high end?
On the luxe end, my favourite eye cream in the past year is Glo Minerals Cyto Luxe. Clinique eye creams are all really good & you can get one for every concern too.
On the more affordable end, I also really like ROC's eye cream & Garnier have great value, very affordable ones too
The Trilogy eye cream is pretty good - its what I'm using at the moment and its got great reviews on bh :)
I would have to agree with Linda. I reckon Clinique make the best eye creams. My favourite is Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector. It's $50 for the small tube, but it seems to last for ages, as you only need a tiny bit. I've also got Clinique All About Eyes roll on serum. This one is great for tired puffy eyes, and it pretty much lives in my handbag.
For day time I highly recommend using eye cream with SPF or using sunblock under eye cream. Protecting skin from sun, will keep our skin (specially around eyes) young and healthy. For night time Trilogy eye cream is the best one with natural organic ingredients.
I agree that Clinique have some really great eye creams. I have tried quite a few but always go back to Clinique's All About Eyes - rich. It is lovely and hydrating for around my eyes. It would probably be a bit too heavy for those of you just starting out with eye creams though.
For something lighter, I recommend Jurlique's Herbal Recovery Eye Cream - I was lucky enough to get a tube of that from the Jurlique/Beauty Heaven event. It is supposed to moisturise and help with dark under eye circles. I really enjoyed using it. Jurlique are pretty good with providing samples so that you can try before you buy.
you don't actually need an eye cream, that's just something the beauty companies created to sell you stuff you don't need. just don't put damaging stuff there.. anything with salylic acid for example.
I disagree. They definitely sell us a lot of stuff that we don't need but eye cream is one of the few things that i've stuck with in my routine. If I don't use eye cream my eyes start to feel tight, which leads to itchiness & increased rubbing (which, of course, is very bad). You can technically use any face cream/oil but you have to make sure it isn't too heavy or it will cause millia (from what I understand although i'm no scientist).
I wouldn't use any "treatment" eye creams as you can't really get rid of dark circles under your eyes & I believe the best treatment for wrinkles is prevention: lots of water and keeping the skin hydrated.
I agree with Miss Tea A about how important eye creams are.
The skin around the eye is some of the thinnest skin you have, and also the hardest working skin, and that can make it suspectible to really noticeable wrinkles & damage if not taken care of.
Also regular, heavier types of creams can clog up, irritate eyes, create those little white bumps under eyes, and won't help wrinkles as well as ones that are made specifically for the eyes.
I'm 18 and I use an eyecream as a preventative measure and to diminish the appearance of dark circles (I'm an architecture student so sleep is scarce). Eysilix from Indeed Laboratories is amazing, I actually notice a huge difference when I don't use it. It's fairly cheap and you can get it from Priceline too, hope that helps :)
Well Jurlique actually can irritate your eyes heaps as it is full with essential oils. I would recommend QV Face eye cream you can get it from any chemist. It is cheap and efficient. Very nice. Also for anti-aging try Moogoo 3 vitamin eye serum. Combine the 2 at night and you will have great result for an affordable price!
Has anyone used the Lacura eye creams?!
Has anyone used the Lacura eye creams?! Lacura eye creams .. I have never tried it and never heard of it before.
Lacura is the Aldi brand - I've tried some of their other skin care products and wasn't overly impressed but some people rave about them
I'm using the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex at the moment after picking it up at the last Beautorium, really loving it. But I think you have to really look into what exactly your needs are, may be it dark circles, fine lines, pigmentation, puffiness.. Often the eye cream will say. The Estée Lauder one is kind of an all-rounder, but is a bit pricey. I've had my eye on the MooGoo one because I love all their other products.
I am like Missy 362 I have been looking for a good eye cream that will help laugh lines and the 11's plus darkness under my eyes.
I am afair bit older though and when I have been near shops the sales lady just seems to push the most costly item at me without explaining the beneifits of it or other items I ask about and they say they have been trained. So I still don't have a cream any suggestions would be welcome. In the mean time I have been using Rosehip Oil for a long time.
Put me on the side that doesn't really see the value in eye creams... I think if you are super duper dry, then sure, a good. hydrating eye cream will have something to offer you. But so many of these companies make outlandish claims about brightening and tightening... come on. LOL Don't fall for the marketing hype! I have reasonably good skin and I just use my face cream/serum, extending up to the eye area. No problems. I think I get my attitude from mum actually. Over the past 30 odd years I have seen her try pretty much ALL the eye creams in the world. And honestly? I don't think they have done that much. She still has lines and still has undereye circles. She still enjoys trying them though! Currently she likes Dr Lewinns :)
I would avoid SPF that close to your eye.
I recommend origins energising cream or another vote for eyesilix.
I bought my first eye cream at your age because I thought I should. I still don't really have any wrinkle or dark circle issues. I am always careful not to tug at the area when removing makeup or putting in cream. Dab the cream in lightly, under your eye, with your ring finger from closest to the nose out towards your ear.
I'm thinking I might try this one from Nuxe....
Various branded products are available us to get the best eye cream. Those are really giving the best results when we use them regularly.
Buy Retin A
We don't care what it's called in USA or EU countries!
Try and get as many free samples as you can before you actually buy one. That way you can see how different eye creams work or not for you :) I have been using eye cream since I was 19 I am now 46 and have no real lines
You look great! What cream do you use.
I've reported nmjiu87's two posts as spam. Though now I'm wondering if I should be putting eye cream on my 'thai pants' as well as my eyes, perhaps if it removes wrinkles I won't need to iron any more.
For many years I have had severe allergic reaction to normal hair colour that contains ammonia and peroxide.
I had good results both with niacinamide and vitamin C in the past, and I like using them both in my morning routine, but I'm not a fan of layering several products.
I loved this. I have dry hair but wow this changed it. It hydrated and moisturized my hair, it made it smell so nice and fresh. It gave my hair a shine.
