My boyfriend is absolutly obsessed with popping his pimples. I do admit, he gets alot of whiteheads, but i get acne aswell and i know its really a no no to pop them. Any tips people?
If you must, I think the best way to do it is use use a clean cotton bud (Q tip?), and do like a rolling action across the pimple. Basically if this doesn't pop it, it's not ready to be popped and you shouldn't keep trying. Also make sure you put something on it afterwards, like tea tree oil or whatever you use.
For whiteheads, I have a little home remedy. I found that using Calamine lotion would help dry them up faster. Put a big blob on the spot and leave it on while you sleep. It dries like a mask. The best part is the semi dried lotion from around the inside of the neck of the bottle or in the lid. It's thicker and stickier. this will draw out the pimple and dry it up. Wash it off very gently so you don't knock the top of the pimple. just a little tip I found helpful when i had acne.
Best to leave them - if he is very prone to pimples he is more likely to spread them and create more.
On the other hand, another method is to take two tissues, fold on the diagonal once into a triangle. Take it, pointed middle facing down to the base of his forefinger and wrap around to cover the whole finger tightly. This keeps any germs from his hands getting on to the skin. It is a more secure way than using Q tips. Roll it gently, dont attack it savagely and squeeze - it will get very red, sore and angry! And putting something on after is a must. My favorite is plain old TeaTree from the pharmacy.
Make sure he is using a cleanser twice a day, and has good hygiene when it comes to his skin. Change towels and pillow cases regularly to to prevent bacteria from accumulating.
The calamine thing does the same as 'Magnoplasm' - you can buy it from the chemist, it 'Draws' out the fluid of the pustule. It is usually used for boils and the like.
The best way for whiteheads is with extractions - go to a skin therapist for this otherwise he may end up with scarring.
Good luck :)
Best not to pop them at all due to scarring and spreading the bacteria. You could try the methods suggested here but really he should try not to pop them no matter what. He could try some face wash or products for acne, troubled skin and they might help the pimples situation.
Are you able to suggest some different options for him?
Like cleansers or specific spot treatments.
If his acne is so bad, then maybe a trip to his GP for medication.
Whilst it might not seem bad to pop them now, if it continues for any length of time then the scarring will last him a life time!
Don't pop them but go here great info about popping a pimple xD
I've heard you ... can ... pop them, but if there's a certain way in order to prevent scarring. First cleanse, so the area is exposed to steam, add 2 teaspoons of salt and add to a cup of water and dab this onto the area that's going to be squeezed, use fingers covered with tissues are gloves and very gently do the job. Dab some salt mixture on it, and an ice cube. I read this in a magazine, but I've never tried it :D
oh gosh dont touch them. get phisohex from your chemist and get him to use it in the shower.
For many years I have had severe allergic reaction to normal hair colour that contains ammonia and peroxide.
I had good results both with niacinamide and vitamin C in the past, and I like using them both in my morning routine, but I'm not a fan of layering several products.
I loved this. I have dry hair but wow this changed it. It hydrated and moisturized my hair, it made it smell so nice and fresh. It gave my hair a shine.
