im 11 weeks pregnant and want to try to prevent stretch marks i know its a big ask probably get them anyways. what products to you think would be good?
thanks in advance.
Palmers have a stretch mark cream but I have not tried it. I like Nivea My Silhouette and Bio Oil, rub into your belly all the time like twice a day while you are pregnant and keep it up after bub is born. Best of luck darl ;)
I agree with Mel. Moisturiser Moisturiser Moisturiser.. Thats all you can really do. And plus I would say eat a balanced good healthy diet to maintain the natural skin barrier
Clarins has a great stretch mark lotion sonya1..Good luck sweetie. We're all here for you xoxo
thanks for the replys everyone. I love BH you can get so much info & advice from here.
If you want a cheap option, my mum just used to rub baby oil or olive oil all over her body before showering, then had a shower, which got rid of the excess greasiness, but left her skin VERY well moisturised (which is key to avoiding stretch marks) and after 3 kids, she has absolutely no stretch marks!
bio oil is great so is the palmers body oil - that smells good u can buy it in mini trial sizes too to c if u like it
I don't have any kids yet but my sister shared some of her tips with me. She swore by a combination of olive oil and vitamin e oil. She would just break open some vitamin e capsules and mix it into the olive oil. She would rub it on her stomach, breasts and back side at least twice a day. Remember that it's not just your belly which grows. She also said that she intentionally dranks lots of water. A good balanced diet was also one of her tips. She didn't restrict what she ate but she did not use it as an excuse to over eat. She also said that exercise was another of her strategies, mainly walks as this helped to keep weight gain in check and increased blood flow around her body. So really stay healthy. This will ensure a healthy bub, healthy nutrients for your body and skin and a healthy weight gain.
I have been using Palmer's Body Oil, not a single strech mark yet. Try it!
try olive oil recommended by my GP.
After shower before dry your body. spray some olive oil (yes.. choose the cooking spray can will help you get rid of excess greasiness).. spray evenly and thinly, rub gently and pat dry with towel..
that's it.. no itchy , no marks .. but cost effective..
the reason to apply when body is still wet is that olive oil can quickly absorbed by your skin when skin is still wet.
well since preventing stretch marks is the topic then what's the cure for stretch marks! i have on the sides of my thighs, behind my legs and random places around my body it's embarrassing I really want to be able to wear nice shorts and skirts up for summer I've tried treating the problem using Palmer's body oil but it's not very effective =/
I used Palmers Body Oil and Bio oil two or more times a day. Just make sure you keep your skin well moisturised! I did not get one stretch mark.
Kimbee - it depends how new or old the stretch marks are - if they're still pink/purple, then keep up the body oil, or get some bio oil. If they're silver/white - then they're too old to do anything about unfortunately!
And the key is - keep your skin moisturised and supple at ALL times! :)
I hear vitamin E oil is great
bio oil has great lotions. I have tired their products and its not too thick and I think you should try it.
Revitol Stretch Mark Cream - revitol.com the order arrived last week no problems, the effect well
I reported the previous post by Coralie Coralie as spam. The spammer tried to conceal DermalMD in the text, but I recognised the brand.
I've heard that whatever you use, moisturising is the key. Thanks for the tips on products to use though- I have lots of stretch marks that I'd love to see disappear :)
I have light white ones on my hips. Thanks to losing weight and gaining it quickly. Most was pregnancy related and thyroid problems. No moisturises helped.
For many years I have had severe allergic reaction to normal hair colour that contains ammonia and peroxide.
I had good results both with niacinamide and vitamin C in the past, and I like using them both in my morning routine, but I'm not a fan of layering several products.
I loved this. I have dry hair but wow this changed it. It hydrated and moisturized my hair, it made it smell so nice and fresh. It gave my hair a shine.
