Warming winter products
When you’re so cold that you don’t even want to shower because it means taking your coat and jumper off, you know you’ve got the serious winter blues.
Sure, once you’re in the hot water its heavenly, but then you have to get out and freeze in a towel while you dry yourself. Not to mention the icy cold creams and products you have to apply to keep you looking your best. Nope, I’d much rather stay under my doona and test out the cleansing reduction trend.
But for the sake of those who have to smell me I’ve thankfully discovered a different approach, warming products. Yes, these products actually warm up as you apply them. Talk about toasty! Now all I need is a self-warming towel…
I’m normally not a fan of hair masks, mostly because you have to get out of the shower to apply them and then wait around for five minutes before jumping back in to rinse it off. But the Wella Professionals Enrich Self Warming Treatment warms up and works quickly so that you can easily apply while in the shower. The mask tackles split ends (which tend to show up more in winter thanks to Mr. Hairdryer) and contains silk extract and shea butter to leave your hair shiny and soft.
My skin tends to get a tad neglected in the colder months, mostly because my runny nose doesn’t like to be accompanied by a cold cleanser. So when I heard about Sanctuary Spa’s Warming Mircrobrasion Polish, I could feel my face warming up at just the thought. The polish warms up on your skin to help stimulate circulation and contains marine earth and natural kaolin to help draw out impurities and give your skin that cleansed and refreshed look and feel. It’s the perfect answer to radiant skin all winter long!
I hardly see my feet in winter because they’re usually hidden away under socks, boots and slippers. But it’s good to let them breathe every once in a while and the Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Warming Foot Smoother means your feet can also have a bit of pampering without your toes dropping off. The self-warming treatment exfoliates, conditions and moisturises your feet so well that you’ll want to take them out of their slippers to show them off!
Another thing that hardly sees the outside world in winter: my body. The only time it is ever uncovered is in a nude three-second blur between the shower and my towel. But just because I never see it, doesn’t mean I can’t feel it. I love to exfoliate and there’s nothing better than baby soft skin that’s super smooth and most importantly, warm. Molton Brown Warming Eucalyptus & Ginger Body Scrub is an invigorating exfoliant that gently removes dead skin from the body. The fusion of pure eucalyptus oil, ginger root and Atlantic sea salt also keeps skin well moisturised, which is essential in winter.
