The greatest health myth of all
Scientists have discovered that red wine and dark chocolate do not actually improve human health. Yep, it’s a myth.
The much-hyped antioxidant resveratrol, a chemical found in grapes and chocolate, was previously thought to have health benefits such as reducing the risk of heart disease and cancer after research found it increased the lifespan of mice.
Unfortunately, a nine-year study conducted by researches at the John Hopkins School of Medicine in the US has shown it has no such effect.
