    Not For Me

    I bought this in the Rewards Room 2020. I like to try new products and was excited to see how this enhanced the skin on my feet. I was truly disappointed with the results - pretty much nothing happened and so this product is not for me.

    I took the time out to put the plastic booties on while watching tele one night (as you can't walk around in them to much - and I suggest putting a pair of socks on over the top anyhow just to secure the bootie better). It felt honestly gross and uncomfortable and wet with a cool sort of feeling and that I expect was the menthol ingredient. Now that could have been okay in summer but it was the end of winter when I did this so I could suggest doing this in summer if you are going to do it.

    It needs to be left on for atleast one hour to 1 1/2 hours . I left it on the full amount and then rinsed it off as suggested on the instructions.

    I was waiting for something to happen days later but nothing did. I can say my skin on my feet felt slightly softer so I gave this the one star for that.

    Next time I might try another brand as the idea of this product did appeal to me.

    We appreciate you choosing one of our products and are thrilled to hear that you wanted to trial something different and that you gave it a go. At the outset, let me apologise that the experience was not what you had hoped for.

    You have shared some very valid points in your review including the fact time needs to be set aside to do this treatment so, for example, it needs to be set as a pampering evening so that you are not getting frustrated by having to be sitting down and not being able to get tasks done. Another very valid point your brought up is around the idea of having the product on at a time when wet feet won’t bother you. Perhaps an idea for future consumers is to keep a nice cosy blanket nearby to wrap yourself warmly while your feet are in the plastic socks.

    In relation to the results that you expected and what you actually found when using the product. As you mentioned, the product appears to have not been a good fit for you. We have consumer who write in and tell us that they cannot believe how much their feet peeled and they were very surprised that the peeling lasted so long and then, like yourself, there can be the opposite feedback. We would love to be able to understand a bit more about your personal situation so that we are in a better position to understand why the product sometimes acts differently to what is expected.

    I'm updating my review because though nothing actually happened within the stated timeframe (that was written of the box) - something did happen after a full seven days - low and behold my feet finally started peeling! Maybe I just have super tough feet and the process started slower with my skin, I don't know but it did actually work and I was a bit shocked but also delightfully surprised that I was going to get a benefit out of my use of the product. So yes this does work but you may have to wait a little longer than five days if your skin is like mine. After the skin stopped peeling - around three days after the first day of peeling (so about 10 days in) I found that my feet felt and looked better and smoother and the deep crevices in my heels were not so deep any more. Yay for that!

    The peeling was gentle and not as vigorous as expected but that was okay - I was glad something was just happening. I expect I could actually give my feet another dose of this in a few weeks/months to see if it works further on me. Maybe I personally just need to do this a couple of times because I'm older and my feet are tougher?! I do tend to get around in open shoes in the warmer months so I tend to get drier feet.

    Best tip: wait a bit longer than what it says on the pack to see your results if you skin is tougher like mine.

    Second best tip: continue to use the included body moisturiser on the feet even if you don't see results yet. This cream can also be used all over the body and is an excellent cream.

    Third best tip: use this in a warm room or with a blanket handy to keep you warm as the product makes your feet feel wet while using it.

    The worst foot peel, it did nothing

    If I could give this product zero stars I would but unfortunately I cannot. To use an exfoliating food mask that did not peel anything off of my feet nor exfoliate it was quite surprising. In fact my feet looked no different than before I used it. The product contains two plastic socks which were so incredibly large I could barely even walk in them.

    When I say large I mean ridiculously large, about twice the size of my feet. The amount of plastic used was excessive and I tried to minimise walking around as much as possible because it was incredibly difficult to do so. I had left it on for the recommended time which was 90 minutes and then I rinsed it off as it said in the instructions.

    I waited and waited, hoping to see my skin peel or even see if my skin was softer and smoother but nope, absolutely nothing happened. It has been over a week and still nothing. I was hoping it would help to get rid of the dead skin and soften my heels but it was just pointless. Very disappointed in this product!

    1. We are surprised that you had no peeling at all especially given that we have customers who mention that they peeled way more than they expected they would. It could come down to different skin and different skin thicknesses and different people’s reaction to multiple chemicals within the product. We can discuss a more personalised answer if we are in contact with you directly.
    2. We agree that the socks are very large and this is something we hope to be able to rectify in future production runs. Please note however, as per our usage instructions, no matter how snugly the socks fit, you should never walk around in exfoliating socks irrelevant of brand or size. It’s very slippery in the sock and could be a recipe for disaster. The socks should only ever be used whilst sitting in one spot.
    3. In terms of waiting for a result, there have been consumers who have sited longer periods until the saw peeling / changes in their skin. You mentioned it had been a week when you shared your feedback, We would be interested to know if, subsequent to sharing your feedback you noticed any changes in the skin on your feet. Again, if you contact us directly we can chat around your personal circumstances and if necessary, suggest alternate foot care products to try which we would be happy to send across to you at no charge to make up for the fact that you did not find the mask to be efficacious and to meet your expected results.

    It definitely works!

    I received this Exfoliating Foot Mask by Dermal Therapy as a part of my most recent haul via the Beauty Heaven Rewards Room!

    Now, this is probably not something I would normally spend my points on, but as Summer is here I like to do these types of foot masks before the hotter days come so that I don't have to worry about my feet looking funky when wearing thongs and/or no shoes at the beach!
    I normally use the Tony Moly brand of foot mask and have had good success with those, so I was curious to try out a different brand for once. And this Dermal Therapy mask definitely works!

    The application of the mask itself was easy. The instructions a very clear and simple to follow.
    I will say that the plastic foot socks that they give you are ridiculously sized though - like an elephants foot, so my suggestion is to put on a tightly fitted sock or slipper on over the plastic sock (and leave that on while you're waiting around for 60-90 mins) so that you are comfortable and so the fluid doesn't seep out or slip around.
    I also like the fact that you get a bonus Sensitive Skin Lotion in the pack that you can apply after you have washed off the acid solution to ensure you lock in the moisture. And of course you can also use it as a general foot cream afterward too!

    It took about 3-4 days before I started noticing any peeling after my original application of the mask. But once the peeling hits, it's on! Peeling galore. Considering that I don't have very course or rough feet to begin with, a lot of skin came off! But that is to be expected regardless. These foot masks are a great preventative measure to ensure your feet are looking their best. But I can also see these masks being very beneficial for those with rough and callused feet. Just ensure that you don't have any open sores or wounds, because I could imagine that that would sting immensely as there are quite a blend of potent acids in the product itself (AHA's and BHA's).

    All in all I would definitely recommend this mask. The only downside is the size of the plastic socks and also the price point as there are a few cheaper masks currently on the market (but remember that you do get a full sized lotion with this set so take that into consideration).

    Any Tips?: 
    Put on one of your own tightly fitted socks or slippers over the plastic sock that is supplied to ensure no spills of the solution and for maximum absorption.
